We’re on board with Matty Lawson’s Twin Charged Evo going in a reverse direction at Knockhill. Managing a 53.6 second lap is very good for a Pro Class car. There’s still a lot more to come from the driver and the car with some new parts fitted on top of our paddle shift system. The driver needs to learn the reverse direction more also as Knockill have only allowed this for around 1-1.5 years on a few events of the season. Matty’s car uses our solid state wireless kit to allow paddles, multi-position switches and buttons to be fitted to his steering wheel while it can be fully disconnected. He’s seen no issues and complete reliability with this system. It’s paired with our Quaife fitting kit which bolts the XAP EShift actuation directly on to the sequential gearbox and allows for an all-in-one and extremely easy to fit paddle shift solution for club level users.

This weekend we finally managed to get some more testing done on the Evo kit. After it taking it back seat to other work and projects it was good to get back behind the development of this kit and see what it can do. It allowed the driver to set a new personal best lap time of his local circuit and also gave them much greater confidence being able to have both hands on the steering wheel at the same time throughout the complete lap.

The driver/owner, Matthew Lawson, pilots a Twin-Charged Lancer Evoultion in the Pro Class of Super Lap Scotland. Both the car and driver are perfectly setup to be the test bench of this kit.

We love sequential gearboxes and paddle shift systems so much we’ve now made a fitting kit for the Momentum Motorsport supplied Quaife Engineering Mitsubishi Evo 5-Speed Sequrntial Gearbox. This kit completely removes the lever so it’s 100% paddle shift. We did think about adding it to the lever inside the cabin but the challenge of packaing the XAP EShift 2 LV Actuator so it could clear the orginal intercooler pipework and airbox won in the end. This kit shown is version 1 which will need to go through various tests and inspection. Keep an eye out for further updates.

Knockhill, Saturday the 28th October.

We were up at Knockhill for an open session of track testing. Here we also arranged for an opportunity to let the current British Touring Car Driver Rory Butcher have a drive of Colin’s Evo. Our aim was to accept any and all feedback from an experienced pilot such as Rory of which was provided. Not only Rory drove the car however. We also managed to get Duncan Vincent out on the car for quite a few laps. Duncan has held a number of lap records at Knockhill over the many years he has worked there. He has driven in multiple series in both cars and bikes so any feedback from such a man would also prove valuable. Both Rory and Duncan specifically reported on the Track Formula & XAP paddle shift system with nothing but great opinions. Faultless operation combined with slick changes that’s given in one complete, compact and robust solution.

The last round of Super Lap Scotland has just taken place and it’s been a clean sweep this year for Colin Dorward in the Pro Class. He’s managed to pilot his Lancer Evo 5 to victory in all 7 rounds on the short but challenging track at Knockhill Racing Circuit, Scotland. Colin’s car has never missed an outing and has managed to succeed in both dry and wet weather conditions. Colin’s car is really only a Class A car and volunteered to move up to Pro Class for the 2017 season so he’s performed extremely well considering. Some great lap times and performance from both man and machine. Colin has said we would not have been able to make this all possible without the help and support from his sponsors, Clark Motorsport, Xtreme Clutch, Samsonas Transmissions, Rock Oil, RA Motorsport Developments and of course, Track Formula. Well done Colin!

A double win this weekend again for Colin Dorward and Track Formula. This weekends double header race started off wet but the sun was soon shining and the track drying up to allow all competitors to really perform at their fastest. The second double header win at Super Lap Scotland has made Colin undoubtedly happy as well as completely confident in the product he’s chosen to make his car keep performing time and time again. We have recently produced a fitting kit for the ’92-07 Subaru Impreza & Legacy transmission tunnel for the XAP EShift actuator. The kit will bolt in with basic tools and compliment a car/owner that already uses a Samsonas sequential and would like to go to paddle shift. The mounting plate picks up on existing bolt holes in the tunnel so fitment is very easy. The use of the OEM handbrake is restricted slightly but this is under revision. Please contact us with any questions.

A double win this weekend for Rounds 3 & 4 for Colin Dorward and Track Formula. The Super Lap Scotland double header weekend saw drivers race in the dry heat going anti-clockwise on Saturday and then clockwise in the rain on Sunday. Colin took 1st place on both days making it a clean sweep so far this season. Colin uses our wireless paddle system and XAP EShift actuator to make the magic happen with his Samsonas sequential gearbox and Xtreme clutch supplied by Clark Motorsport. We have almost finished working on and developing a mounting solution for Subaru Impreza >07 chassis. This works with the Samsonas Sequential Gearbox and can operate using the supplied lever or with a compact lever to minimise space.

Colin Dorward has won the Pro Class of Super Lap Scotland for the second time in a row.

Pushing his Mitsubishi Evo through the varying weather conditions and on some well used tyres Colin managed to pull it all together when it counted the most.

Using the Track Formula supplied Wireless Paddle System mated to the XAP Electromagnetic Gearbox Actuator Colin stormed round the circuit faster than the rest to take first place.

Well done Colin. We’re looking forward to the next SLS round double header which should make for another exciting and entertaining couple of days racing at Knockhill.
